What it is
A defence addressed to the governors of the empire, arguing that Christians are tried by a procedure used for no other crime, and that the blood of the martyrs is seed.
Why it lasted
The masterpiece of Latin apologetics and the book that gave Western Christianity much of its vocabulary.
