What it is
A history of the church from the apostles to Constantine, assembled from documents, letters, and now-lost sources that Eusebius quotes at length because he had them and knew others might not.
Why it lasted
The single most important source for the first three centuries of Christianity. Much of what is known about the period survives only because he copied it out.
