Laetentur Caeli
The Council of Florence
Read elsewhere
What it is
The decree of union between the Greek and Latin churches, settling the filioque, purgatory, papal primacy, and the eucharistic bread — signed by all the Greek delegates but one.
Why it lasted
The most serious attempt at reunion ever made. It was repudiated in Constantinople within years, and the city fell fourteen years later.
Where to read it
Public domain and free to read in full, though not held here. The archives below have it.
These open a search on each archive rather than a direct link, which is the honest way to point at an edition nobody here has checked line by line.
