What it is
Epigrams, hymns, and letters by a teacher at Constantinople, including a famous prayer asking Christ to exempt Plato and Plutarch from condemnation.
Why it lasted
The clearest expression of the Byzantine humanists' unease about loving pagan learning, put as a request rather than an argument.
