Lactantius · c. 250 – c. 325

Written while the persecution was running, and about anatomy. Lactantius walks through the body part by part — the eye, the ear, the hand, the arrangement of the teeth — arguing that nothing in it is accidental, against Epicurus, who said the organs came first and their uses after.
