On the Christian Life
Attributed to Fastidius
What it is
A demanding call to moral seriousness addressed to a widow, insisting that a Christian who lives like everyone else is a Christian in name only.
Why it lasted
One of a group of anonymous British or Gaulish texts long suspected of Pelagian sympathies, and evidence of a lost ascetic movement in Britain.
Where to read it
This work is in the public domain and can be read in full, free, at the archives below. The Library catalogues it; it does not host the text.
These open a search on each archive rather than a direct link, which is the honest way to point at an edition nobody here has checked line by line.
