The preaching of a friar who crossed central Europe drawing enormous crowds, campaigned against Hussites and Jews, and helped raise the army that relieved Belgrade in 1456.
Why it lasted
The most consequential preacher of the mid-fifteenth century, and a figure whose campaigns against Jewish communities left lasting damage.
