What it is
The ark of the covenant read as a diagram of contemplation, with six kinds of contemplative seeing rising from the senses to what exceeds reason.
Why it lasted
The most systematic analysis of contemplation written in the Middle Ages, and Dante placed its author in the heaven of the sun.
