What it is
The verbatim record of the interrogation of an illiterate peasant girl by university theologians, including her answers about her voices and about whether she was in God's grace.
Why it lasted
One of the most remarkable documents of the Middle Ages: a young woman outmanoeuvring trained inquisitors in transcript, and burned anyway.
