The Trial Record of Joan of Arc

The court of Rouen

Read elsewhere

What it is

The verbatim record of the interrogation of an illiterate peasant girl by university theologians, including her answers about her voices and about whether she was in God's grace.

Why it lasted

One of the most remarkable documents of the Middle Ages: a young woman outmanoeuvring trained inquisitors in transcript, and burned anyway.

Where to read it

Public domain and free to read in full, though not held here. The archives below have it.

These open a search on each archive rather than a direct link, which is the honest way to point at an edition nobody here has checked line by line.
