What it is

An African bishop's year-by-year record, written across a decade of imprisonment and exile for refusing to condemn the Three Chapters, and ending at the year he ran out of freedom to write.

Why it lasted

The Three Chapters controversy from the side that lost and would not yield, by a man the emperor could not persuade and did not kill. It is the main Latin source for the years around the Second Council of Constantinople.

Where to read it

Public domain and free to read in full, though not held here. The archives below have it.
