What it is

A complete treatment of time — the day, the moon, the tides, the Easter cycle — closing with a world chronicle and an account of the six ages.

Why it lasted

It settled the computus for the Latin West and, by adopting Dionysius Exiguus's system throughout, made AD dating the European standard.
