A dialogue dividing all reality into four kinds of nature and following creation out from God and back into him, drawing on Greek fathers almost nobody in the West could read.
Why it lasted
The most ambitious philosophical work between Augustine and Anselm, condemned in the thirteenth century and a permanent underground current in Western thought.
