Third Baruch

And as I was speaking with them, behold, angels came bringing baskets full of flowers; and they gave them to Michael.

And I asked the angel, “Lord, who are these, and what are these things being brought by them?”

And he said to me, “These are angels over the authorities.”

And the archangel took the baskets and poured them into the bowl.

And the angel says to me, “These things from above are the virtues of the righteous.”

And I saw other angels carrying empty baskets, not full. And they came sorrowful, and they did not dare to approach, because they did not have complete rewards.

And Michael cried out, saying, “Come, you too, angels, bring what you have brought.”

And Michael was greatly grieved, as was the angel with me, because they did not fill the bowl.
