Third Baruch

English, translated by Online Critical Pseudepigrapha — Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, English of the critical text

And at that very hour Michael came down, and the gate was opened; and he brought oil.

And he filled with oil those angels who had brought the full baskets, saying, “Take it away, give a hundredfold reward to our friends and to those who have toiled in good works. For those who sow well also reap well.”

And he says also to those carrying the empty baskets, “Come, you too, receive your reward as you have brought, and give it to the sons of men.”

Then he says to both those who brought the full ones and those who brought the empty ones, “Go and bless our friends, and tell them that thus says the Lord, ‘You have been faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things; enter into the joy of our Lord.’”
