What it is
Around two hundred and fifty short sermons in deliberately plain Latin, attacking drunkenness, sorcery, and the survival of pagan festivals among nominally Christian peasants.
Why it lasted
The best evidence of what ordinary Gaulish Christianity actually was, and a model of preaching pitched at people rather than at bishops.
