1 seven times; and they shall return to their station. And after them three standards of skirmishers shall go out and stand between the battle-lines. The first standard shall hurl at

2 the battle-line of the enemy seven war-darts. And on the blade of the dart they shall write: The Flash of a Spear for the Might of God. And on the second missile they shall write:

3 Sparks of Blood, to Bring Down the Slain by the Anger of God. And on the third dart they shall write: A Flaming Sword Devouring the Slain of Iniquity by the Judgement of God.

4 All these they shall hurl seven times, and shall return to their station. And after them two standards of skirmishers shall go out and stand between the two battle-lines. The

5 first standard holds spear and shield; and the second standard hold shield and sword, to bring down the slain by the judgement of God, and to subdue the battle-line of

6 the enemy by the might of God, to repay the recompense of their evil upon every nation of vanity. And the kingdom shall be the God of Israel's, and among the holy ones of His people He shall do valiantly.

8 And seven ranks of horsemen shall stand, they also, at the right of the battle-line and at its left; on this side and on that their ranks shall stand — seven hundred

9 horsemen on the one side, and seven hundred on the other side. Two hundred horsemen shall go out with the thousand of the battle-line of the skirmishers; and so

10 shall they stand on all the s[id]es of the camp. In all, four thousand six hundred; and one thousand four hundred chariot-riders for the men of the rule of the battle-lines,

11 fifty for [each] single battle-line. And the horsemen upon the chariots, the men of the rule, shall be six thousand — five hundred to a tribe. All the chariots that go out

12 to the war with the me[n ]of the ranks: stallions, swift of foot, soft of mouth, long of wind, and full in the measure of their days, trained for war

13 and accustomed to hear [n]oises and to face every kind of sight. And those who ride upon them are men of valour for war, trained in horsemanship; and the measure of

14 their days is from thirty years old to forty-five. And the horsemen of the rule shall be from forty years old to fifty. And they

15 and the chario[ts … ] and helmets and greaves; and they hold in their hand round shields, and a spear eight cub[its] long [ … ]
