The Testament of Solomon

And again I commanded another demon to be present before me. And a dragon-like creature came to me, rolling itself, but having the face and feet of a human, and the limbs of a dragon, and wings on its back.

And seeing him, I was astonished and said to him, “Who are you and from where have you come?” And the spirit said to me, “First, I stood before you, King Solomon, a spirit deified among humans. But now rendered inactive by the seal of God given to you.”

“And now I am the one called Pterodragon, not associating with many women. But with a few and beautiful ones, who bear the name of that star-wood.”

“And I go to them as a winged spirit, associating through the buttocks, and the one whom I assaulted conceives, and the offspring born from her becomes Love. But being unable to be conceived by men, that woman also perished. This is my activity.”

“Therefore, just allow me to be satisfied, but the rest of the demons, being troubled by you and utterly confused, will speak all truth. But they will cause the future supply of wood that you gather for the building in the temple to be consumed by fire.”

And as the demon spoke these things, behold, the spirit that came out of his mouth set fire to the forest of Lebanon and burned all the wood that I had placed for the temple of God.

And I, Solomon, saw what the spirit had done and was amazed, and having glorified God, I asked the dragon-like demon, saying, “Tell me, by what angel are you rendered inactive?” And he said to me, “By the great angel who sits in the second heaven, called in Hebrew, Bazazath.”

And I, Solomon, having heard these things and invoked his angel, condemned him to saw marble for the construction of the temple of God.
