Second Baruch

English, translated by Online Critical Pseudepigrapha — Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, English of the critical text

And it will come to pass after these things, when is fulfilled

the time of the advent of the Messiah,

and he returns

in glory,

then all who have fallen asleep in hope of him will rise.

And it will happen at that time

that the treasuries will be opened in which was preserved the number

of the souls

of the righteous, and they will go forth;

and the multitude of souls will appear together in one assembly

of one mind,

and the first will rejoice and the last will not be distressed.

They know,

for,

that the time has arrived

of which it was said

that it is the consummation of the times.

But the souls of the wicked, when they see all these things,

will then waste away even more.

For they know that their torment has arrived and their destruction has come.
