Second Baruch

Hear, therefore, the interpretation of these last black waters

which are to come after the black ones.

This is the word:

Behold, the days are coming,

And it will happen when the time of the world is ripe,

and comes

the harvest

of its seeds of the evil and of the good,

he will bring,

the Mighty One,

upon the earth and its inhabitants,

and upon its rulers confusion

of spirits

and terror of heart.

And they will hate one another,

and incite one another to battle,

and the despised will rule over

the honored,

and will be exalted

the lowly

over the glorious.

And the many will be delivered up to the few,

and those who were nothing will rule over the strong,

and the poor will surpass the rich,

and the wicked will prevail over the mighty.

And will be silenced

the wise,

and fools will speak.

And the thought of the children of men will not then be confirmed,

nor the counsel

of the mighty,

and the hope of those who hope will not be confirmed.

And it will happen when these things that were said beforehand occur,

there will fall

confusion

upon all human beings.

And some of them will fall in battle,

and some of them will be destroyed in tribulations,

and some of them will be hindered by their own.

Then the Most High will reveal those nations which he prepared beforehand,

and they will come and wage war with the leaders who are left then.

And it will happen that everyone who is saved from the battle will die by the earthquake,

and whoever is saved from

the earthquake

will be burned in fire,

and whoever is saved from the fire, by famine

will perish.

And it will happen that everyone who is saved and escapes from all

these things that were said beforehand,

both of those who conquered

and were conquered,

will be delivered into the hands of my servant, the Messiah.

For the whole earth will consume its inhabitants.
