Second Baruch

And it came to pass after these things

that I went to the people and said to them:

"Gather to me all your elders,

and I will speak words to you."

And they all gathered in the valley of Kidron.

And I answered and said to them:

"Hear, O Israel, and I will speak to you,

and you, seed of Jacob,

Listen, and I will instruct you:

Do not forget Zion,

but remember the distress of Jerusalem.

For behold, days are coming when everything that exists will be taken away to corruption,

and it will be as though it had not been.
