Second Baruch
English, translated by Online Critical Pseudepigrapha — Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, English of the critical text
And it will come to pass, after he has brought low everything that is in the world,
and sits in peace forever upon the throne of his kingdom,
then it will be revealed
in joy,
and rest will appear.
And then healing
will
descend in dew,
and sickness
will withdraw, and anxiety and distress and groaning will pass away from humanity,
and joy will walk throughout the whole earth.
And no one will die again before their time,
nor will any adversity happen suddenly.
And judgments and accusations and contentions and vengeances and blood
and lusts
and envy and hatred,
and all things that are like these,
will go to condemnation as they are removed.
For it was these that filled this world with evils,
and on account of these the habitation of the children of men was exceedingly troubled.
And wild beasts shall come from the forest and serve the children of men,
and asps and dragons shall come forth from their holes to submit themselves
to a child.
And women then will no longer have pain when they give birth,
and they will not suffer torment when they yield the fruit of the womb.
