Chapter 69 · 69 of 77
Second Baruch
English, translated by Online Critical Pseudepigrapha — Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, English of the critical text
For the waters,
the last,
which you saw that were darker than all those that were before them,
those that were after the number of twelve,
which were gathered together: they are the whole world.
For the Most High divided from of old,
because he alone knows what is to happen,
the evils,
for,
of the wicked
which were to happen before him,
he foresaw six of their ways;
and the good works of the righteous
which were
to be accomplished before him,
beforehand
he saw
six of their ways,
apart from those
which he is about
to do at the end of the world.
On this account there are not black waters with black,
nor bright with bright;
for it is the end.
