Second Baruch

English, translated by Online Critical Pseudepigrapha — Online Critical Pseudepigrapha, English of the critical text

And I answered and said:

"For whom and for how many will these things be?

Or who will be worthy to live in that time?

For I will speak before you everything that I consider,

and I will ask of you concerning those things that I ponder.

For behold, I see many of your people who have separated themselves from

your covenants,

and cast off from themselves the yoke of your Law.

And others, moreover, I have seen who have abandoned their vanity,

and have fled under your wings.

What then will happen to these?

Or how will that last time receive them?

Or will perhaps the time of these be weighed,

and according as the balance inclines, so will they be judged?"
